This Privacy Policy explains how Cong Le ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our apps and related services.
This is a general policy for apps published under the Cong Le developer account. Specific apps may have app-specific disclosures in addition to this policy.

App-Specific Disclosure: Live Captions / Subtitles for Hearing Impaired
Live Captions is designed to caption speech on your device. The app does not include or call any third-party AI service for transcription, captioning, summarization, or content processing.
Data used for captioning
- Microphone audio: Used only after you grant microphone permission, so the app can generate live captions. Microphone audio is processed on the device using Apple's on-device speech recognition frameworks.
- Imported video audio: If you choose a video from Photos, the app extracts and transcribes the selected video's audio on the device to create captions.
- Transcripts, captions, and saved sessions: Stored locally on your device when you use history or export features. You can delete saved sessions and recordings in the app.
- Optional session recordings: If you enable audio recording, recordings are stored locally on your device for the retention period you choose. They are not uploaded by us.
No third-party AI sharing
We do not send microphone audio, imported video audio, generated transcripts, captions, saved sessions, optional recordings, or user content to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or any other third-party AI model or AI service.
Apple speech assets
The app uses Apple's on-device Speech framework. If a required Apple speech language asset is missing, iOS may download that model from Apple. This downloads a model to your device; it does not upload your audio, video, transcripts, or captions to Apple for processing.
Purchases
If you buy or restore Pro access, the app uses RevenueCat and the App Store to process purchase status, product identifiers, receipts, entitlement state, and related technical purchase metadata. RevenueCat does not receive your microphone audio, video audio, transcripts, captions, saved sessions, optional recordings, or AI prompt/content data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account/profile information (if applicable).
- App content you create (for example: reminders, notes, entries, settings).
- Support messages you send to us.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device type, operating system, app version, language, and region.
- Usage events, crash diagnostics, and performance metrics.
- Approximate technical metadata (IP-derived country/region).
1.3 Information from third parties
Some apps may use third-party SDKs (for analytics, crash reporting, ads, or subscription management) that process limited technical data under their own policies.
When an app shares user data with a third party listed below, that provider is used only for the stated purpose and is required by its terms and applicable law to protect user data with safeguards consistent with this policy.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve app functionality.
- Diagnose bugs, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. Third-Party Services
Depending on the app, we may use one or more of these services:

Third-party providers process data under their own privacy terms.
Live Captions uses RevenueCat / App Store for purchase infrastructure. It does not use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob, or any third-party AI service for captioning data.
4. Data Retention and Security
- We retain data only as long as needed for legitimate app operations, legal obligations, or dispute resolution.
- We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data.
- No method of storage/transmission is 100% secure.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

6. Children's Privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) unless explicitly stated in the app listing.
